Specialist Physician

A specialist physician studies for four years after completion of general medical training and becomes expert in managing complex multisystem disease conditions. Many will then further subspecialize in single system diseases, e.g. cardiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, nephrology and rheumatology among others.
As a specialist physician, Dr Murphy has developed a special interest in endocrinology and metabolism. The involves conditions such as diabetes, obesity, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, pituitary disorders and menopause. Dr Murphy will also manage other general medical conditions such as hypertension, sleep apnoea, arthritis, gout, asthma and chronic fatigue.
